Biographical Encyclopedia of Astronomers

Go

Welcome to the homepage of The Biographical Encyclopedia of Astronomers, a comprehensive reference from Springer.

The BEA is a useful resource for historians, astronomers, and the interested public that provides biographical information about another generation of astronomers and enhances the information on earlier periods by including more astronomers and by utilizing contemporary historical scholarship. This encyclopedia is the collective work of authors drawn from different countries and numerous institutions around the world, such as the Smithsonian and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, as well as an editorial board of historians and astronomers.
