Introduction
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, established in Stockholm in 1917, focuses on financing scientific research, mainly in the field of technical and natural science. Brief History
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation was established in 1917 by the banker and politician Knut Agathon Wallenberg and his wife Alice Nickelsen, who married in 1878. Knut Wallenberg was the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1914 to 1917 and the chairman of the board of Stockholm's Enskilda Bank, the first private Swedish bank, founded in 1856 by his father André Oscar Wallenberg.
