The Prosorba column is the trade name for a staphylococcal protein A immunoadsorption column designed for use with plasmapheresis in the management of immune-mediated thrombocytopenia and rheumatoid arthritis.

In the clinic setting, patients undergo plasmapheresis with separation of plasma and cells. The plasma is then run over the Prosorba column, which uses staphylococcal protein to remove immunoglobulin and immune complexes. The plasma and cells are then re-mixed and infused. Prosorba columns have been approved for use in immune-mediated thrombocytopenia and rheumatoid arthritis. Randomized controlled trials show that over 40% of subjects with refractory RA met ACR criteria for improvement after 12 weekly treatments with Prosorba column in
