Quazepam

Definition

Quazepam is a benzodiazepine with hypnotic and anticonvulsant properties. Clinically, quazepam is particularly effective in the short-term treatment of insomnia by inducing and maintaining sleep. Unlike other benzodiazepines, quazepam selectively targets GABAA type 1 receptors, but one of its major long-acting metabolites does not share this selectivity.
